FAQs

Why do I need to complete the care certificate?

If you wish to work in the health or social care sector you must know how to keep people safe whilst meeting their individual needs.

The Care Certificate is a set of 15 standards that detail the learning outcomes and requirements that health and social care support workers are expected to be trained in.

Completing the e learning modules and some face to face training of the 15 standards will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to perform well in your role.

The Care Certificate is a standardised qualification that ensures that all health and social care professionals have a similar set of introductory courses , covering skills, behaviours and knowledge of how to best support their service users.

Our online courses provide you with the theoretical knowledge needed to complete the Care Certificate. Most employers aim to have the Care certificate completed fully within the first 6-8 weeks of working in a care environment.

To fully complete the Care Certificate theory and practical skills you will need to complete your moving and handling and basic life support practical training; we are able to help with this in in your workplace setting, please see the tab booking courses on our website for more details.

How does completing the care certificate benefit me?

The care certificate is portable and can travel with you; it only has to be completed once and it is a foundation qualification from which to build further knowledge, after this you may wish to progress to an apprenticeship qualification.

Upon enrolment your tutor would ask if you had firstly completed the care certificate?

You may not wish to complete an apprenticeship but wherever you may work having this qualification will help to open doors for you when looking for work; as it gives reassurance to any employer at interview stage that you are aware of the best working practices and come to them with subject knowledge and practical skills.
