Our moving and handling theory course aims to gain an awareness of safe techniques, risk assessments, legislation covering moving and handling, the spine and back care for us and our service users, controversial techniques that should not be used; except for in a life threatening emergency; the falling service user; the types of equipment available, and an overview of pressure area care focusing on prevention and early intervention.
What You’ll Learn
Safe practice and a theory of how to complete tasks; what equipment may be available; how best to support a falling service user and interventions that may help to reduce falls; react to red skin care; risk assessments to use before we begin a task this will prepare you well for your practical training which can be booked via our website.
