Our Fire Safety theory course aims for us to have an awareness of fire hazards and common causes of fire; precautions to take to prevent fire and how to respond during a fire emergency evacuation.
The fire triangle, sources of ignition and common causes of fire; what we would expect to find in a fire emergency grab bag; we also look at escape routes and assembly points; fire protective measures within workplace buildings; legislation covering fire safety and gaining an understanding of what your responsibilities may be for fire safety.
What You’ll Learn
A theoretical knowledge of fire safety, how to assess where a fire may be, how to evacuate service users, how and when best to use a fire extinguisher and relevant information to share with the fire brigade; looking at P.E.E.P.S and who needs them.
